Halloween is this Monday, which means were are just under a week away from turning our attention to the upcoming holiday season.

November 1st to Thanksgiving is always an interested time. You're not quite at the holidays yet, but for stores and other corporations, it might as well be mid-December. We will be flooded with Christmas decorations and holiday commercials every which way you turn.

You probably know it's always best to get your Christmas shopping done sooner, rather than later. Something I've been trying to do more of lately.

For one, you want to make sure you get what you want for that family member. Secondly, who wants to battle the intense crowds in December? Forget about Black Friday -- the deals may be great but for many, it's not worth the crowds and headaches.

I've been trying to do more Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving in recent years and it truly does help a lot. You can save money and crowds by getting it done early, but you want to make sure it's a store that celebrates the holidays early.
