Food Network Winner Debuts Damar Hamlin Snow Sculpture
Next time you go for a visit at Buffalo Waterfront, there will be a special treat awaiting you…a Damar Hamlin snow sculpture!
The detailed figure shows Damar in his full Buffalo Bills uniform, donning his “3” jersey, wearing his red gloves, with eye black under his eyes and his hands making his signature heart pose. Since there wasn't much snow, Eric wrote that he used ice shavings from the skating rink for his creation.
Eric Jones, an Olean native, created this sculpture, and is known for his creations in other mediums, too. Eric is nationally-recognized his for pumpkin carving skills, as he was a Halloween Wars finalist on Food Network in 2020 and also won Food Network’s “Outrageous Pumpkins” competition, too. He’s also draws caricatures and creates sand sculptures.
Eric created this snow sculpture, and posted it on Instagram today with the caption, “Welcome home Damar!” leaving fans in awe, and continuing the celebrations for Damar’s homecoming.
Eric is used to creating large-scale Buffalo Bills snow art. Last year, he sculpted Josh Allen throwing a football, with the Buffalo Bills logo and turf, and of course, a “Jumping Josh” snow sculpture.
Eric crafted this Damar tribute in timing with the Bills playoff game against the Miami Dolphins tomorrow – showing the beauty of Buffalo with our snow, our football, and our Bills Mafia family.
Eric also brought hope to the Buffalo community in another way. He created a #BuffaloStrong set of shirts, depicting the tribulation-filled football season we’ve faced. The design shows a buffalo breaking concrete barriers such as “blizzard” and “injuries” on the road to the playoffs, and the Super Bowl trophy, with proceeds benefiting Hope Rises, a nonprofit that helps many people in need in the local community.
The Buffalo Bills play the Miami Dolphins tomorrow in the Wild Card round for a chance to secure a neutral AFC Championship site in a potential game against the Kansas City Chiefs. We can’t wait to celebrate by getting photos with the Damar snow sculpture after the win.
