Things to know before going to Buffalo’s newest waterfront Venue, Terminal B

After leaving Canalside a few years ago, weekly outdoor waterfront concerts were moved to the Outer Harbor, a beautiful location in a grassy green field that allowed for plenty of room to dance and enjoy a great show.

For the past two years, construction has been happening alongside that field as Western New York awaited the grand opening of a new permanent structure, a wait that ends this week.

Friday is the summer grand opening of Terminal B and the kickoff to this summer’s Seneca Casinos Outer Harbor Live Concert Series, with a sold-out show from Chappell Roan.

The new venue hosted an eclipse party in April but things are really heating up now.

“We have an exciting concert lineup planned this summer for Terminal B and we’re thrilled to open the outdoor concert series to a sold-out crowd of 6,000 this Friday,” says Lauren Ford, general manager for Buffalo Waterfront. “This is a beautiful venue to take in a concert, with the lake as a picturesque backdrop. We have a wide range of acts scheduled - from pop, rock, country, classical, hip-hop, and metal - so there’s something for everyone at Outer Harbor Live.”

If you’re going to this Friday’s show, or any other event at the new venue this summer, there are a few things to know.

● The venue is cashless, so keep your plastic and smart watches handy.

● No tickets are available for purchase onsite; all ticket sales must occur through SeeTickets at OuterHarborLive.com.

● Unlike some downtown shows, parking is free at the Outer Harbor, but it is on a first-come, first-served basis in the lot at 901 Fuhrmann Boulevard or along the road itself. Ride-sharing is encouraged.

● Independent Health has provided a Bike Valet and secure bicycle parking at the venue, along with a Reddy Bike Share station on Fuhrmann Boulevard near the venue’s entrance.

● All guests will pass through a security checkpoint and all bags will be inspected. Backpacks and large tote bags, along with outside food and beverages, are prohibited.

● There are select seating areas within the venue, but folding chairs brought from home are not permitted.

● Certified service animals are the only pets allowed.

Upcoming shows include:

● Brothers Osborne, June 14 at 8 p.m.

● Lil Yachty, June 15 at 8 p.m.

● A Day to Remember, June 16 at 6:30 p.m.

● Counting Crows, July 9 at 7:30 p.m.

● The Tea Party and the Headstones, July 11 at 6 p.m.

● Local favorites moe., July 17 at 7 p.m.
