2 – Tonight’s Powerball drawing could be a New York State record-setting one. The current jackpot is $478 million dollars, which is $2 million dollar more than the largest lottery jackpot ever won by a New York State resident. That record was set last April when Johnnie Taylor won the $476 million dollar Mega Millions jackpot. 3 – The Buffalo Sabres kicked off their current home stand with a Big Win over the Dallas Stars last night. The Sabres won 4-2 and got a big goal from Tage Thompson. Up next for the Sabres, they host the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday with puck drop set for 1 pm.
4 – If you are planning on cooking Thanksgiving Dinner this year, the chances of you forgetting one item are high but the good news is that several local stores will be open on Turkey Day to help you out. While Walmart announced they would be closed on Thanksgiving, stores like Wegmans, Whole Foods, and Tops will be open for part of the day for any last-minute shopping. Of course, the crowds could be busy so the best thing to do is shop sooner than later for everything you need for Thanksgiving dinner.
5 – A couple of Buffalo Bills are a little lighter in the wallet after getting fined by the NFL. Both Dion Dawkins and Taron Johnson were fined by the league for their actions in the Monday Night Game against the Jets. Johnson was fined just over $11,000 for a low block on a Jets player while Dawkins was fined the same amount for unsportsmanlike conduct for taunting between the 3rd and 4th quarters. So far this season Bills players have been fined 4 times for almost $40,000.
