Every Western New York High School Should Do This
Now that we are officially in October and many of our minds turn to Halloween and trick or treating there is something that every High School in Western New York should think about doing.
When you think about high school sports, chances are that you think about how High School Football brings out the community and that most offer sports usually only bring out the parents and friends of the players.
Every High School sport should take note of what an amazing event took place this past Saturday at Frontier High School.
This Saturday was the varsity boys' soccer senior night and the theme the team chose to do was "Socc-tober" including free trick or treating around the field at half-time. The team, coaches, and parents all came together to make the event happen and invited all the kids in the area to come to support the team and get some free candy.
We know what the Bills mean to the Western New York community. We know that Bills Mafia is more than just watching games. It is about the community. Why not start to develop that at the high school level?
The more people in the community that support the local teams the better. Plus it is a great way for the schools to show off the new fields and athletic complexes that seem to be being built every year here in Western New York.
So for your next "Senior" night or other big game, think about ways to get the whole community involved.
