It Was Nothing But Fun and Home Runs at Micah Hyde’s Softball Game
Cold temperatures and rain drizzles did not stop Micah Hyde and a gang of Buffalo Bills from playing a fun softball game in the name of charity in downtown Buffalo.
The 5th annual event at Buffalo's Sahlen Field did not disappoint one bit as thousands of Buffalonians piled into one of the best minor league baseball parks in America to watch a bunch of football players on the diamond to make the community better. For the fifth straight year, dozens of Bills stars traded in their football helmets and pads for mits and bats to raise money to help children all over the region who need some financial support to be able to thrive, both on the athletic field and in the classroom academically.
The 2025 Micah Hyde Charity Softball Game was another sellout, and more than 16,000 people were inside Sahlen Field to witness the Bills Offense beat the Bills Defense in epic fashion.

While the heavy rain held off the entire day, the drizzle came down and so did the home runs as the Bills Offense jumped to an early lead over the defense. Mitchell Trubisky and Ty Johnson had big games for the offense as they were able to pour on the hits. It wasn't all offense as the defense was able to put some runs on the board as well, thanks to AJ Epenesa, Micah Hyde, Damar Hamlin, Greg Rousseau, Joe Andreessen, and others.
However, the defense wasn't able to do enough as the offense was able to grab the victory this year, winning 20 to 10.
One of the highlights of the game was the HR Derby, which took place at the end of the main softball game. This year, Dewayne Carter was able to take the trophy after booming several HRs deep into the outfield.
While the game was for fun, and there were plenty of displays of it, the main reason we all gathered at Sahlen Field was to raise money for various charities to help children in need. In total, more than $600,000 was raised from the game. $25,000 is going Oishei Children's Hospital, and several donations of $35,000 were issued to various other charities, including Hyde's IMagINe for Youth Foundation.
On behalf of the foundation, you guys are the best fans in the land.
