1 –Today we could see near record-setting warmth around Western New York. A high-pressure system will be plenty of sunshine with highs in the upper 70s. The current record high for today is 81, which was set back in 1979. The chance of hitting that record is slim but it could happen if conditions are just right. Enjoy today because a cold front is coming our way with rain and cooler temps moving into the area starting tomorrow.
2 – The New York Lottery announced that there was one “Big Money” winning ticket sold in New York from last night’s Powerball drawing. That ticket matched four out of five numbers and also had the Powerball number and won the 3rd place prize of $50,000. There were also over 20 4th-place winning tickets that took home $100 each. Make sure to double-check your tickets this morning.

3 – There is a new weird trend that is happening at Buffalo Bills home games. It started about a month ago when a video of a fan eating spaghetti out of a bag at halftime went viral. This past Sunday another video of a fan having a weird snack is going viral as, this time the fan is eating warm salmon. We will get a break from this bizarre trend this week as the Bills are on the road in Seattle.
4 – We are now two weeks away from the Presidential election and you will have a chance to vote early in Western New York starting this Saturday. Polls will be open to vote early from Oct 26th through Nov 3rd. You don’t have to go to a specific voting location to vote early, you can go to anyone in your home county to vote. If you plan on waiting until Election Day, you will have to go to your assigned voting location.
5 - The Buffalo Bills were happy with how quickly Amari Cooper picked up the game plan ahead of the Bills game against Tennessee and offensive coordinator Joe Brady said the team is still working on getting the offensive all on al the same page. (audio) The Bills are looking to continue their winning ways this Sunday as they travel across the country to take on the Seattle Seahawks who are 4-3 so far this season. Kickoff for the game is set for 4:05 pm.
6 - The price of gas continues to drop here in Western New York. The current average for a gallon of unleaded regular gas is $3.39. That is down two cents from last week and nearly 10 cents from last month. Prices are expected to slowly drop as we wrap up the month of October. According to Gas Buddy.com, the cheapest gas in Western New York can be found on the Native American Reservations with most places offering gas for under $3 dollars per gallon.

7- Officials with New York State are warning residents of a new scam targeting EZ Pass users. EX Pass users have been getting a text saying that their vehicle was recorded using “NY TOLLS BY MAIL,” and requesting they pay off their balance before being charged a late fee. While the text is a lot like the real text you would get from the EZ Pass office, officials with EX Pass state that they never would ask for your Social Security number, date of birth, or other personal information. If you have received one of these texts you should delete it immediately.
