What’s Happening In Western New York: Monday Edition
Here is a look at what is trending around Western New York today.
1 – Half of Western New York is continuing to dig out of lake effect snow while half is still looking at green grass and the bad news is that more snow is on the way for the Southern Tier. A lake-effect snow warning remains in place for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties until Tuesday at 7 pm, the lake effect warning for Southern Erie County has been lifted this morning. More snow is expected Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday as another storm front is coming through the area.
2 – Due to the snow, there are several cancelations this morning. Fredonia School District and SUNY Fredonia are closed today due to the weather. Cassadaga Valley Central, Chautauqua Lake Central, and Dunkirk Central School are also closed. You can get the latest closings anytime using our station APP.
3 – The Buffalo Bills clinched their 5th straight AFC East title with a 35-10 win over the 49ers in a snow covered Highmark Stadium. After the game, the players were enjoying themselves and even head coach Sean McDermott got caught up in the celebration doing a Snow Angel live on ESPN (audio) Up next for the Bills is a west coast road trip as they take on the Rams next Sunday in LA.
4—Once again, Wegmans has been named one of the best places to work in the country. In the latest Forbes magazine list, Wegmans landed at #6 overall and #1 overall in the retail category. Wegmans has made the list every year since it was first published in 1988. They have several openings, including both full-time and part-time openings.

5 – Tis the season to help your neighbors in need and now through December 15th, you can make a donation of a non-perishable food item at several locations across Western New York as part of our Cans for Christmas donation drive.
