What’s Happening In Western New York: Monday Edition
Here is a look at what's happening around Western New York today.
1 We are looking at some unseasonably warm weather today across the 716. We will have plenty of sunshine as a warm front sweeps across the region today and through the early part of the week. We are looking at a high of 62 which is about 5 degrees warmer than our normal average. We could get into the 70s tomorrow through Thursday with a drop in the high temperature coming our way on Friday.
2 – The Buffalo Bills improved to 6-2 on the season with their 31-10 win over the Seattle Seahawks yesterday in Seattle. After the game, Seattle QB Gino Smith said that Bills Mafia showed up and the home team felt like they were on the road. Up next for the Bills will be AFC East rival the Miami Dolphins at Highmark Stadium. Don’t forget to join us for the “We Are Buffalo” tailgate at Prohibition 20/20 before the game.
3 – Early voting is underway here in Western New York and many people are already taking advantage of it. Over 30,000 people voted early over the weekend in Erie County alone. Polls will be open this weekend Monday thru Friday from noon to 9 pm and then this weekend from 9 am until 5 pm.

4 – The Buffalo Sabres are on a 3-game winning streak and were part of NHL history over the weekend. During the Sabres win over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, Tage Thompson set a new NHL record for the hardest shot in a game with a slap shot that was registered at 104.69 miles per hour. The Sabres are back at KeyBank Center tonight looking to continue their winning ways as they host the Florida Panthers.
5 –You might want to make sure that your snow equipment is ready to go. While it will be above-average warm this week, a long-range forecast model is calling for a possible snowstorm starting on November 15th. The average date for the 1st measurable snowfall in Western New York is on November 8th, so that date isn’t too far off.
