Wrong Turn Lands Duo In International Trouble
Just about anyone who has driven around Western New York for any length of time know that you have to make sure you're paying attention when you're driving down Porter Avenue or on the 190 north just past downtown buffalo, because one wrong turn and you will find yourself crossing Lake Erie and the Niagara River while on the way to Fort Erie in Canada.
It seems that no matter how many signs that go up and other notifications that point to the fact that you're approaching an international border, people still make this mistake.
We all know the saying 'crime doesn't pay', and it somehow seems that criminals who drive along Buffalo's West Side and on Interstate 190 North keep making the same mistake that other drivers have made time and time again.
Couple Make Wrong Turn At Peace Bridge, End Up In Jail In Buffalo
This happens way too often for it to be a simple mistake, but it seems another pair of criminals mistakenly drove into the Peace Bridge Plaza when trying to get on the 190 and ran into some Border Patrol Agents, who had a few questions for them.
According to the Buffalo News, a couple of people ended up driving to Canada last week by accident, and when trying to get back into Buffalo, officers from Customs and Border Protection had a few questions for them since they did not have proper documentation.
After a series of questions, 36-year-old Todd Stubbs and 35-year-old Brianda Salgado ended up in custody after a gun, cocaine, ecstasy pills, and marijuana were found in their car. Now the duo has a slew of charges from the Buffalo Police, and they may not be driving around Western New York for a while.
This isn't the first time it's happened, and it likely won't be the last time.
