As the calendar inches closer to the vernal equinox, we are starting to see more signs that spring is arriving in the Empire State. Not only has pothole season sprung into full effect, but we are also seeing the amount of ice on Lake Erie diminish very quickly. Plus, who can forget all of the great presents we're discovering that dogs all over Western New York have left for us?

As the warmer temps arrive in the 716, gone are the days where we could take a nice leisurely drive on the Great Lakes, which is a very sad occurrence.

However, it's not all doom and gloom that spring is coming. Especially since one of the things that people in Western New York love to complain about the most is now ending for several places around town.

Another Sign That Spring Has Arrived In Western New York

It was a couple weeks ago when the Town of Tonawanda announced that it was ending it's winter parking rules early, now the second largest city in New York State is following suit as Buffalo is doing the same effective Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

As of midnight on Wednesday, Buffalo's winter road rules have been removed.

During our snowy season, cars in Buffalo are typically barred from overnight parking on bus routes, typically from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m., and parking on various side streets that have daytime alternate parking rules from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Now that the warmer weather is here, we're free to go back to parking any old way in Buffalo.
