It’s Official: Revolver Records’ First Elmwood Location Is Closed
Phil Machemer famously started Revolver Records out of crates in his garage and in pop-up shops in flea markets and little vendor fairs before opening the store’s first location on Hertel Avenue.
His second store was opened on Elmwood Avenue in 2018, before taking a third location on Transit Road and a fourth location in East Aurora (but that one closed at the end of October).
On Saturday, Revolver Records announced it was the final day for the shop in the bright pink storefront on Elmwood Avenue…for now. But don’t fret—it’s good news!
“Today will be the final day for the old Elmwood location,” he wrote. “We’re finishing things up at the new location across the street (810 Elmwood), and we’re excited to show everyone… Thank you to everyone who has stopped in and made this shop the place that it’s become.”
The store announced back in September it would be moving essentially across the street, into the place formerly occupied by the delicious Taste of Siam restaurant, which now has a space in the very successful Chandler Street restaurant and kitchen incubator.
“Along with a comprehensive stock of new and vintage records, the new store will feature a bar and space for in-store performances—all coalescing to forge a new hotspot to share and enjoy music in Buffalo,” Revolver said at the time.
Another IG post over the weekend shows a bright pink wall with a mural—a sign of things to come in the new space, perhaps?
No opening date has been given yet for the new Elmwood Avenue location, but here’s hoping it’s soon! There are plenty of great record releases to pick up for loved ones during holiday shopping, but there are two other locations open for Revolver right now, in addition to their online store.
