Revolver Records Is on the Move in Buffalo’s Elmwood Village
From tasty plates to tasty licks, the Elmwood Village is going to be movin’ and shakin’ a little more.
In an Instagram post Wednesday afternoon, Revolver Records announced it will be moving, essentially, just across the street to fill the two-level space once occupied by the former Taste of Siam restaurant (RIP).
“We have some exciting news to share. Our current Elmwood Avenue location will be moving across the street to 810 Elmwood! Along with a comprehensive stock of new and vintage records, the new store will feature a bar and space for in-store performances—all coalescing to forge a new hotspot to share and enjoy music in Buffalo. More details coming soon,” the announcement says, accompanied by a sped-up video of the short walk between locations.

This is great news for music lovers and the Elmwood Village alike.
Revolver Records started out in a tidy but kind of small corner location on Hertel Avenue before expanding to Elmwood Avenue a few years ago; the locally owned and operated chain also has locations on Transit Road in Williamsville and the newest location in East Aurora.
The Elmwood Village location has hosted some in-store performances, including a visit from Hamilton’s Arkells, who have always shown Buffalo plenty of love in recent years. The problem was, the store just didn’t have the room for bigger shows or to allow more people to participate in those shows.
Much like Hi Fi Hits on Main Street in Williamsville, whose owner used to work for Record Theatre and where there is a performance space for bands, the new location for Revolver Records should be a great new home for small stage shows in Buffalo. Its location in the heart of the Elmwood Village will make it a great draw.
For those who miss the delicious menu from Taste of Siam, it appears there’s a semi-regular pop-up operating out of the Chandler Street restaurant incubator space on Mondays, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.
In the meantime, congratulations to Revolver Records’ owner, Phil Machemer, and the whole team for their new adventure!
