1-Today, you will want to hold onto your hats and make sure your garbage cans are secure as it will be a very windy day in Western New York today. We will see wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour through the day as the temps will drop as well. We hit 52 degrees early this morning but the temperature will continue to drop to around 40 by 5 o’clock tonight. Temperatures will continue to drop as we head into the weekend as well with highs in the 30s for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
2- It looks like the Buffalo Bills are becoming America’s team as CBS has flexed this Sunday’s Bills game from a 1 o’clock kickoff to 4:25 pm so more of the country can see the Bills play. The Bills host the Patriots at Highmark Stadium on Sunday and are looking for their 12th win of the year. The Bills for the most part have to win their last 3 remaining games for a chance to clinch the #1 seed in the AFC.
3- Another giant banner showing the Bills some love has gone up in Downtown Buffalo. Just months after a massive Josh Allen banner was hung over the side of a building, three new banners were put up outside of Buffalo City Hall. One of the banners congrats the Bills on winning their 5th straight AFC East title.
4- Tonight’s Mega Millions jackpot of $740 million dollars could set a new record in New York State. If someone from New York were to win the grand prize tonight, it would be the largest lottery jackpot ever won by a New York State resident. The current record was set in April of 2023 when Johnnie Taylor won $476 million dollars playing the Mega Millions.

5 - The Buffalo Sabres will look to snap their 10-game winless streak tonight on the road as they travel to Montreal to take on the Canadians. The Sabres haven’t won a game since Nov 27th when they beat the San Jose Sharks. Head Coach Lindy Ruff said the team will get through this tough stretch. The Sabres are currently in 7th place in the Atlantic Division.
6 - Soon you will see a very famous and handsome face in the Northtowns a lot more often. Clarence native and Hollywood star Chad Michael Murray announced he recently bought a home in Western New York and is planning on moving back full-time with his wife and kids. Murray left the 716 back in 1999 to become a model and Hollywood actor and found fame playing the role of Lucas Scott in the TV show “One Tree Hill”
7- This Thursday will be the final broadcast for TV legend Don Postles. He is set to retire from WIVN Channel 4 on December 19th. Postles has been a staple in WNY TV, being the only news anchor to anchor at all three local TV stations. He has spent the past 32 years working at WIVB Channel 4.
8- The largest craft beer festival in New York State returns to Buffalo in 2025. Buffalo on Tap is coming back on Saturday, February 8th at the Buffalo Convention Center. There will be over 150 beers, ciders, seltzers, and more.
