What’s Trending In Western New York: Monday Edition

1 – We have set a new snow record in Western New York, this time for the lack of snow. The old record for the latest date for snowfall in Buffalo was November 22^nd, well we have blown past that and that record could be extended this week. All signs point to no snow for the 716 until possibly Thanksgiving evening. That means the new record for lack of snow could end up being November 28^th.

2 – Speaking of snow, the European weather model is calling for several inches of Lake Effect snow this weekend across Western New York. The good news is that the US and Canada models are right now calling for more rain than snow from this next weather front. The biggest issue is that the temperatures of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario are warmer than normal and that could lead to lake effect snow. 3 – The Miami Dolphins beat New England yesterday which means the Bills will have to win on Sunday Night in order to claim the AFC East title. The Bills are currently 9-2 while Miami is 5-6, if the Bills win on Sunday night against the 49ers, they will claim the AFC East title since they hold the head-to-head tiebreaker. Both the Jets and Patriots are eliminated from winning the AFC East.

5– The Buffalo Sabres wrapped up their 3 game West Coast road trip with three wins. They beat San Jose, LA, and Anaheim during that trip. The Sabres are off today and tomorrow before heading back to KeyBank Center on Wednesday to host Minnesota. The Sabres are 11-9-1 so far this season.
