The construction of a new cold storage facility in West Seneca could see a Georgia-based company investing more than $46 million on the project while creating 45 new jobs.

3200 Clinton St. LLC - an affiliate of Gainesville, Ga.-based Agile Cold Storage - is proposing to develop a 115,000-square-foot cold storage warehouse at 3200 Clinton St.

The facility will neighbor the recently-opened Rosina Foods plant on Clinton Street, with Rosina’s serving as the new facility’s sole tenant.

The project carries a $46.53 million development price tag and could see 45 jobs - some paying as much as $77,000 annually.

The deal is the second major food-related development planned for West Seneca in recent days. Upstate Niagara Cooperative is working on a 250,000-square-foot warehouse/distribution center in the North America Center.

Combined the Upstate Niagara and Agile Cold Storage projects represent nearly $200 million in new private investment and the creation of 175 new jobs in West Seneca.
Plans filed with the Erie County Industrial Development Agency - which is working on tax breaks and incentives for the project - Agile Cold Storage will see 99,000 square feet of the space will be dedicated for cold storage and 16,000 square feet for manufacturing space.

The ECIDA directors are expected to vote on the incentives in August.

Construction is expected to start this fall and the building should be tenant-ready by late next summer.
