Recently signed Buffalo Sabres’ center Sam Lafferty has found a new suburban home.

Lafferty, according to documents filed Sept. 9 in the Erie County Clerk's office, paid $1.244 million for a five-bedroom, 4,600-square-foot house in Clarence.

Lafferty bought the house from Samuel and Mary Grace Lanasa, according to the county clerk’s records.

The house, constructed in 2004, sits on 1.53 acres of land.

Lafferty signed with the Sabres in July after spending last year with the Vancouver Canucks. He also played for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks, and Toronto Maple Leafs.

In 289 regular season games, Lafferty scored 36 goals and 47 assists and also recorded one goal and two assists in 21 playoff games with Pittsburgh, Toronto, and Vancouver.

The deal is Erie County’s 55th private residence to sell for more than $1 million this year. Clarence has had 20 of those 55 $1 million-plus home sales.

Sales of homes valued at one more than $1 million are considered key economic benchmarks within the region's residential real estate industry.
