Want more proof that homes in Buffalo’s Delaware and Park districts are a hot commodity?

Consider this:

A five-bedroom house at 50 Rumsey Road that overlooks Delaware Park has sold for $2 million—or approximately 280% more than what it went for in 2010, the last time it changed owners.

According to documents filed Aug. 20 in the Erie County Clerk's office, Trevor and Bailey Fitzgerald paid $2 million for the circa 1932-era, 4,523-square-foot Tudor-style house, buying it from Edwin III and Alexandria Johnston. The deal was brokered by Kristan Andersen from Gurney Becker & Bourne. Among the house’s amenities...six working fireplaces.

The deal is 47th this year in Erie County to see a private residence sell for more than $1 million.

Home sales of $1 million or more are considered a key economic benchmark within the region's economic development landscape.
