Increased sales and a rising demand for its products is prompting a Canadian manufacturer of industrial parts to undergo a major area expansion.

Lifco Hydraulics Inc. has paid $2.195 million for the 25,120-square-foot former Goodnature Products building at 149 Bud Mill Drive in Cheektowaga, according to July 23 filings in the Ere County Clerk's office.

The deal gives the St. Catharines-based Lifco its third local site.
“We needed the space and capacity,” said Erin Brown, Lifco promotions manager.

Lifco already has a manufacturing hub in Grand Island and a distribution center in Amherst.

The Bud Mil building, constructed in 1980, will also serve as a manufacturing center for the company.

Lifco makes a number of industrial products including piston pumps and excavator attachments.

The new site will see at least 40 people hired. Lifco already employs more than 100 people locally.

In addition to its St. Catharines headquarters and main plant, Lifco has operations in Corpus Christi, Texas, and Ambridge, Pa.

The deal was brokered by Hanna Commercial Real Estate’s Joseph Deck Jr.
