Here is a look at today's top trending stories in Western New York.
1-The winter weather will play a big role in this morning’s commute as we will see gusty winds and blowing snow impact all of Western New York. Roads this morning are snow-covered and slick, so if you are headed to work or school, make sure to give yourself plenty of extra time.
2- The nasty winter weather is expected to be with us today and into tomorrow with all of Western New York under some winter weather advisory. Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Wyoming, and Southern Erie Counties are all under a Lake Effect snow warning, while the northern part of Western New York, including the city of Buffalo, is under a winter weather advisory. Many schools and businesses have closed today, but you can get the list anytime using our station’s app.
2- The Buffalo Bills introduced a familiar face as the team announced that former All-Pro Micah Hyde re-signed with the team and joined the practice squad. He talked about coming back to Buffalo and helping with winning a Super Bowl, no matter what his role is. Hyde is not expected to dress for any games this season unless an injury happens but he will be on the sidelines in LA when the Bills take on the Rams this Sunday.
3- Another Buffalo holiday tradition returns this weekend as SantaCon is back for its 13th year. The Santa theme pub crawl will take place on Saturday starting at 1 pm and happen over 9 different bars in Downtown Buffalo. Tony Mastrangelo, one of the co-founders said it is a good time for a great cause and you will see a lot going on. Money raised for the event will help the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northtowns.

4- Last night The Trans-Siberan Orchestra put on an amazing show at KeyBank Center but what was even better is that the band raised over $7000 for FeedMore WNY. Every year the band donates $1 from each show to a local charity in the city they are playing. Over the past 25 years, TSO has raised over 20 million dollars for local charities across the country.
5- The Big man is back in Buffalo this week. Santa Claus returns to Western New York on Saturday for a special meet and greet at Adam's Nursery & Garden Center in Lancaster. Kids can get a free picture with Santa and play Christmas games for prizes. Adults can sign up to win tickets to the Greater Niagara Ballet Company's Nutcracker performance next weekend, pick out a Christmas Tree, and shop at Adams Christmas Shop, which is full of amazing ornaments and decorations! It all happens this Saturday, 11-to-1 at Adams Nursery 57-99 Genesee Street, Lancaster.
6- The Cans for Christmas food drive continues through December 15th. You can make donations of non-perishable food items to those in need at several drop-off locations across Western New York.
