A former M&T Bank senior executive has sold his Clarence house for more than $1 million, making it the 76th private residence in Erie County to surpass the $1 million sales threshold this year.

As for Clarence, it is the 27th home in that northern Erie County town to sell for more than $1 million this year.

Darren King and his wife, Mary Katherine, sold their house at 5135 Rockledge Drive in Clarence’s Spaulding Lake subdivision for $1.25 million, according to documents filed Nov. 29 in the Erie County Clerk's Office.
The five-bedroom, 4,918-square-foot house was acquired by Kinan Dalal, according to county clerk’s records.
King left M&T Bank, where he was a senior executive vice president, this past summer.
The sale of $1 million homes is considered a key economic benchmark in the region’s residential real estate industry.
